Contemporary Management Technique The travel division within Air Test and Evaluation Squadron One coordinates individual and team travel, authorizes travel expenses, scrutinizes government travel charge card (GTCC) use, and ensures proper allocation of 23 funding lines totaling $1.17 million (C. Sacksen, personal communication, September 19, 2016). Taken from an earlier analysis and evaluation project, the travel division team identified financial, customer, internal, and learning critical success factors (CSFs) needed to gain greater efficiency and effectiveness to reduce internal complacency and the threat of an external takeover (Hicks, 2010). Although the division conducted a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats analysis to ascertain the CSFs, there is room for process improvement. J. Estacio reported that implementing the contemporary management technique of business process improvement (BPI) could further aid the travel division in reaching greater fidelity rega rding the CSFs (personal communication, October 3, 2016).
